Breakfast in Beirut Film Turns Into A Festival

Breakfast in Beirut Film Turns Into A Festival

VENICE/IT: Enas ELKorashi an Italian-Egyptian curator in collaboration with Daniel Buso along with municipality of Treviso and Artika Eventi decided to create a festival entitled " Breakfast in Beirut Art Festival" to showcase hauntingly beautiful work by middle eastern and European artists in an attempt to bridge the cultural gap that usually politics create.

The festival launched its opening on April 29th 2016, and it continues to showcase paintings, installation pieces, sculptures, photography and film screenings.

The main film of the event opened on April 30, 2014 for public entitled Breakfast in Beirut by Lebanese filmmaker  Farrah ALHashem. ELkorashi stated that the film speaks the reality that is usually hidden by the international media, and it is the truth face of the middle east, it shows a side of Beirut that has never been seen which is why Breakfast in Beirut is more than film and it speaks volumes of the society we live in today so Buso and I decided to name a festival dedicated to the film and to all these artworks that not only speak about their creator but where they come from."

Media Round-up for Breakfast in Beirut Festival

ELKorashi passionately comments that this festival has been loved by the Italian public, a lot has left the screening room of ALHashem's film announcing their love to Beirut, and the creators came to a realization that people relate through art and separated  by politics . some Italians left the screening room with a smile on their faces projecting their comments and compassion to the filmmaker saying that " in Italy, we have the same politicians, not only in Beirut."

The logo of the festival captures the subtle beauty of Middle East, Kiran Tasneem an artist who dedicated her "Identity Collection" to the festival committee who chose her work for a reason.

The works are being viewed daily by the people of Treviso and its neighbouring villages.

For those wishing to see interesting hidden treasures of the Middle East purchase ticket online through Artika Eventi  and visit the exhibition that is being held at Villa Giovaninna in Villorba city of Treviso  until June 5th, 2016.
