#DIFF/The Worthy: An Emirati Thriller with a Hollywood Twist

Image Nation have proudly revealed an exclusive sneak peek from its upcoming thriller, Worthy, directed by Ali Mostafa.

The clip, which previewed at the recent Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), has now racked up an impressive 60k views.

Set in a dystopian future which has been plunged into chaos due to water shortage, the gripping story follows a group of survivors seeking refuge with the only remaining clean water supply. However when their compound is infiltrated by two visitors, the visitors soon become pawns in a test for survival, where only one of them shall be chosen worthy.

The thriller is Mostafa’s third feature film and follows his debut movie City of Life and the Image Nation co-production From A to B. Mostafa has re-teamed with several of his previous collaborators including actors Samer Al Masri (Bab Al Hara), Ali Suliman (Zinzana, Paradise Now) and Habib Ghuloom (City of Life), as well as regional producer Rami Yasin (Sea Shadow, Zinzana).

The Arabic language feature has been produced by Hollywood veterans Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Annabelle) and Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious), and is a fantastic example of Image Nation’s mission to unite regional and international teams for first class productions.

Worthy is slated for release in 2016.

#Enas ELKorashy our correspondent in #Dubai Film Festival #DIFF and in a telephone conversation have described her experience after watching the film within minutes of leaving the cinema theater, her breath and heart beats were pounding hard, she described the film as "Intense" and "Strong" leaving many people psychologically affected by the intense special sound effects that surrounded the film.

"A lot of people were physiologically frustrated after the screening of the film. The special effects,  hurt the people a lot, and it reminded me of “Saw” the film. There were so many times where i was distracted by the special sound effects, I wanted to focus on the storyline to understand what is going on, and what the director wanted to say, but it was a difficult experience for me to follow the pace of the story underneath the super effects that clearly managed to upscale the film into a Hollywood standard. Obviously, the producers of the film wanted a Hollywood twist. My heart is still beating so fast,  the film is about the search for humanity, it is about chaos, and will humans sustain their humanity underneath the chaos created in this world ? That was the ultimate thought that stroke me the moment I saw the film. The Emirati Cinema are jumping loops with this film in terms of the production value."

ELkorashy have provided us with an intense impression of the film and sample of these pictures,
